30-06-16 Nearly six percent of of teacher transfer applications approved

The drop in the number of retiring teachers in secondary school education this year resulted in the approval of a smaller percentage of teacher transfer applications by the education ministry.

Of the 6,977 applications submitted, only 404, or 5.77 percent, were approved.

Teachers whose transfer was approved must appear before the Directorate of Secondary School Education, which is competent for transfers, by the July 4, 2016 deadline.

These include teachers whose temporary postings in a bureau other than their current main posting end on August 31, 2016, with the temporary posting continuing until then.

Excluded from the above deadline are teachers who in any way are involved in the national examinations process. They must appear within a reasonable time period, following the completion of their exam duties, but no later than 31 July. Educators who until now performed administrative service assume their duties upon completion of their term.

Transferee teachers must contact the Directorate of Secondary Education in the area to which they have been transferred so as to be informed of the vacancies in the local schools and the deadlines for postings there.

The assumption of duties may also be approved with a notarized declaration which may sent by Fax, but then must also be sent by post.

Teachers who submitted transfer applications but are not on the lists of those approved, have not been transferred either because there were no organic posts, or because those approved have a higher number of transfer points.
