04-07-16  List of approved primary school teacher transfers issued

The Ministry of Education, Research and Religious affairs hereby announces the approved transfers of primary school teachers in the PE60 and PE70 university education categories, for both general education and special education for 2015.

The overall number of applications for transfer in the general education category was 4,056. Of these, 356, or 8.78 percent, were approved.

For transfer to special education schools and special education diagnostic centres (KEDDY), there were 149 applications, of which 90, or 60.4 percent were approved.

Transferees are obliged to contact the Education Directorate of the region to which they are transferring so as to ascertain the vacancies in local schools and the deadline for applying for a posting. Once the posting is approved, teachers must appear and assume their duties in their new posts by July 8, 2016.

The assumption of duties is approved following the receipt of a notarised statement signed by the teacher and sent by Fax.

School principals and deputy principals, Heads of School Directorates and School Counselors assume their new duties after their current term expires.

Teachers whose names do not appear on the list of approved transfers have not received a transfer either because there were no vacancies in organic posts, or because other applicants had a greater number of points for transfer purposes.
