06-07-16 University entry procedures for foreigners and non-Greek nationals

The Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs is hereby inviting foreigners and non-Greek nationals who meet the conditions for special candidates for university entry to submit by email an application and the computerised preference card indicating the desired faculties, departments and initial orientation to which they wish to be admitted, between Friday 15 July and the Thursday, 21 July, 2016 deadline.

Applicants should refer to the following electronic platform –

– which will be accessible 24 hours a day, in order to fill out both the application and faculty preference card from abroad, without having to travel to Greece.

 The documentation required in each category of candidate must be submitted to the Secretariat of the faculty or department to which they have been admitted, on the dates that will be set for the registration of those admitted.

Before filling out the required forms, applicants must reviews the “Instructions for admission to university for foreigners and non-Greek nationals for 2016”, which is posted on the ministry website www.minedu.gov.gr (click the “Examinations – Exetaseis” icon and then “foreigners-non-Greeks) in the Announcements category, so as to confirm that they meet the requirements in the category to which they state they belong and that they have all the necessary documentation for that category.

Candidates should note that immediately after the email submission and finalization of their application and preference card they must:

Print out directly from the official site a signed copy of the application and preference card and sign all pages of the documents.

Provide a sign copy of the notarised statement that is part of the required documentation.

  1. They must send the above documents along with:

One photo of the size used on police ID cards

One photocopy of a passport or state ID card or another official document bearing their photo, which confirms the identity of the applicant.

One photocopy of the secondary school diploma, along with an official translation of the diploma into Greek.

One photocopy of the certification of parity and equivalence  of the diploma issued by the Directorate of Diaspora Greek Education, Intercultural Education, Foreign and Minority Schools of the Education Ministry, or from domestic Directorates of Secondary Education, or from the Education Coordinators of Greek diplomatic and consular missions abroad, as well as a certificate converting the grade into the Greek 20-point system (20 being the top grade) issued by the Directorate of Diaspora Greek Education, Intercultural Education, Foreign and Minority Schools of the Education Ministry, or from the domestic Directorates of Secondary Education, or from the Education Coordinators of Greek diplomatic and consular missions abroad. The grade point average must be noted on the Greek 0-20 grading scale, with 20 being excellent and O the lowest possible grade.

THE ABOVE DOCUMENTS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN 22 July 2016.

With the marking “For the Committee for the  Collection and Review of Applications- Computerised Preference Cards for Foreigners-Non-Greeks for 2016”

After the firm deadline, NO applications will be accepted, as the computer system locks down.

After the procedure is complete, candidates will be informed of the approval or rejection of their application for participation.

2. Candidates are obliged when submitting their application-preference card to have the required documentation, which after their admission they must submit to the Secretariat of the department or faculty to which they have been admitted, which will then review the completeness and legality of the documents, in order to complete the registration process.

If during the review of the necessary documentation it is ascertained that the requirements for inclusion in the above special categories are not met, due to the submission of false or non-legal documents, those admitted will be expelled by the decision of the department or faculty. They will also be barred for two academic years from all university entrance procedures in all departments and faculties.
