Alternate Minister of Education, Research and Religious Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou met with Goldsmiths University Professor Anna Furse. Professor Furse for many years served as director of the Department of Theatre and Performance at Goldsmiths in London.
For 15 years, Furse served as director of the internationally acclaimed graduate programme in Performance Making – a workshop for study, research and practice, in which dancers, theatre performers, and visual artists participate.
Anna Furse is also co-director of “The Centre of the Body”, an inter-disciplinary, multicultural centre, with a focus on the body. Her award-winning career in professional theatre spans 33 years, with numerous appointments as artistic director and work as an author and editor.
During the meeting, Furse and Anagnostopoulou discussed issues relating to university programmes, theatre academies, the role of the arts in education, as well as current political events, such as the refugee crisis and Brexit.
