09-08-16 Working groups to study coordinating support centres for educators
The multi-faceted upgrading of the educational process is the unswerving objective of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs. Viewing the support of educators in their work as an issue of paramount importance, the ministry has established a Working Group to study the legal framework for a new institution: Centres for the Support of the Educational Community (KYPEK), which are to be established in the immediate future.
The aim of these centres will be to coordinate and institutionalise cooperation of various officials and structures of both primary and secondary school education, such as school advisors, directors of school activities (e.g. environmental education, cultural issues, and health education), Regional Retraining Centres (PEK), KEDDY diagnostic centres, Youth Consulting Centres (SSN), Centres for Advisement and Orientation (KESYP), Natural Sciences Workshop Centres, and Centres for Computers and New Technologies (KEPLINET).
Until the definitive recommendations of the working group, the passing of legislation on the new framework, the proclamation of new positions for those responsible in all structures and the completion of the process of selecting them, educators who currently staff the aforementioned structures retain their posts and continue their service normally.
