17-08-16 Government Gazette publishes decision on special education vocational schools
As part of a decision to bolster the quality of education in the nationwide special education network, the ministry has decided to transform a series of special education secondary schools nationwide into vocational special education schools and to establish high school classes at special education schools.
Specifically, Technical Special Education Schools are being transformed into Special Education Vocational Junior High Schools and High Schools, and high school courses will be established at special education vocational junior high schools.
Despite the fiscal crisis, the ministry has increased by 20 percent the induction classes and special education school units by eight percent. An additional 531 classes and 23 new special education schools will operate in 2016-2017. Finally, 12 regular high school classes are being started at existing special education vocational junior high schools.
