26-09-16 “I discover. I create. I participate” the slogan for  a new digital education

The Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, following international educational currents, and in accord with international educational policies and practices, aims to upgrade digital education among active, social citizens of the future.

In that framework, a comprehensive strategy for digital education is commencing at schools. A series of digital services and libraries are available, and open to educators, students, and parents. Aiming at the updating and highlighting of available and developing digital education services of the ministry to a broader audience, the website https://go.minedu.gov.gr has been created.

Digital technology is changing contemporary schools and opening them up to a broader social environment. The open access and utilisation of open technologies brings essential innovations, and shapes an environment that allows discovery, creation, and participation.

The website https://go.minedu.gov.gr  aims to inform and support students and educators regarding open access to digital libraries and services according to the educational level and area of knowledge.

The aim is for the website to extend to Tertiary Education and Lifelong Learning, so that it may constitute an open web portal that will offer central access and a unified search engine for a large volume of digital educational content that is being, has been, and will continue to be produced in the country, by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, by creditable institutions over which it has oversight, and by the educational community.
