01-11-16 Postings of appointed educators from the 2008 Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection exam

A joint ministerial decision of the Education, Research and Religious Affairs minister Nikos Filis and of Alternate Finance Minister Yorgos Houliarakis -  which transfers vacant organic educational personnel posts posts in the fields PEO5-French Literature, PE07 German Language, and PE19 and PE 20-Computers – from secondary to primary school education -  has been issued.

The decision, which was published in the Government Gazette (Volume Β΄ 3482), regards positions that will be covered by teachers who successfully competed in the 2008 exam conducted by the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP).

This opens the way for the issuance within a few days of a call for the appointment of 456 educators with various specialisations, who qualify for appointments under the 2008 exam.

Following the appointment of the aforementioned teachers, an injustice perpetrated over many years has been remedied, and public school personnel is bolstered. This is a first step in removing the years of delays in appointed tenured public school teachers.

As announced, the Education Ministry has submitted a three-year plan regarding the need to appoint 20,000 teachers.
