28-06-16 Digitised test material for nationwide university entry exams
The education ministry’s operational programme for the “Development of Human Resources, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2010” has incorporated the project “enrichment of available digital educational material for the six courses that are included in nationwide exams in the final year of high school (third year lyceum)”, in order to better prepare students for nationwide exams.
The project is managed by the Institute of Computer Technology and Publications Diophantos, named after the Alexandrian Greek mathematician known as the father of algebra.
The project entails the following aspects:
- Updating and adjusting the material in already existing digital workbooks and the expansion of the website to include new material, which will meet the requirements of new analytic programmes of studies. Material not in examinations will be deleted and new exercises and tests will be added.
- The creation of two new digital workbooks, with the accompanying digital presentations.
The two new workbooks include:
- Lessons in the theory of the course in video or slides format (webinars).
- Supplementary lesson materials such as notes, questions on theory, and exercises.
- Repeat exercises and tests based on the format of subjects tested in nationwide exams.
The updating of existing material and the development of new supplementary teaching aids will be done by educators chosen by open invitation and volunteers.
The team of teachers will be complemented by a team of correctors who will perform qualitative reviews, as well as a technical team that will construct and upload the material and be responsible for the operation and update of the website.
