26-08-16 New president of Diophantos Computer Technology Institute and Press to be selected
The Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs is proclaiming the position of President of the Diophantos Computer Technology Institute and Press (ITYE).
- Candidates must be Greek or citizens of EU member-states and
- Candidates must be academics in the field of computer technology with high-level research, educational and administrative experience over many years, with the rank of full professor at a Greek or foreign university.
- Candidates must have no obstacle to holding a civil service post.
The President represents ITYE in relation to every public or other authority, drafts the agenda, convenes the Board of Directors and presides over its meetings, introduces issues or delegates that power to the Vice President, another board member or the supervisor of an administrative bureau, oversees and coordinates ITYE bureaus and is responsible for the effective operation of the institute.
The appointment of the ITYE president is the responsibility of the Education Minister, following the recommendation of a five-member committee which is created by ministerial decision. The committee takes into account all preconditions and evaluates the overall suitability of candidates for the position.
The term of the president is five years. Interested applicants must by September 12, 2016 submit to the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology, General Directorate of Human Resources, Directorate of Human Resources for the fields of Education and Religious Affairs, Section Γ (gamma) of Human Resources, Libraries, General Archives and Institutions under Oversight, Attention: M. Keramida, a closed enveloped declaring their candidacy with the following documentation:
A notarised statement that they are Greek citizens or citizens of another EU member-state, that there is no legal conflict of interest or obstacle to their holding a civil service post under the civil service code, that they have completed their military service or have a legal exemption (in the case of Greek male candidates), that they accept without reservation the terms of this proclamation, and that the information they submit is correct and true.
Candidates must submit an analytical CV in Greek that shows they meet all preconditions, and copies of their university degrees and of their state ID card.
The selection committee may request clarifications regarding the above documentation.
Upon appointment, the successful candidate must provide a birth certificate, a certificate of military service status (for males with Greek citizenship), a certificate that there is no criminal record, and any other documentation required under current laws and regulations.
This proclamation will be published in the Athens dailies Kathimerini and Ethnos, the Thessaloniki daily Makedonia and the Patras daily Peloponnisos, and it will be posted on the state Diavgeia website and the websites of the Ministry of Education, Research, and Religious Affairs and of “Diophantos”.
