07-09-2016 Special Education appointments given priority in early hiring
The first wave of hiring of substitute general education and special education primary and secondary school teachers has now reached 5,179. In accordance with the law, the Education Ministry chose, for the first time since 2001, to make primary school Special Education appointments before all others, demonstrating the ministry’s focus on this crucial field.
Indeed, this is the first time that prior to the commencement of the school year such a large number of general education and special education primary school teachers have been hired. Taking into account the appointments in secondary education and specialised areas that will occur in the next two days, the total rises significantly.
The number of general education primary school and kindergarten teachers hired is 3,695. This is the largest number of teachers hired in the first phase of appointments in the last six years.
