04-07-16 Computer science, new technologies coursers for teachers, students
Both teachers and students attended seminars organized by the Cyclades islands Centre for Computer Science and New Technologies.
The seminars had a broad spectrum of subject matter, most involving new technologies and the internet. But there were also two seminars regarding School Violence and Bullying, intergender relations, and the HPV virus, taught by Miltos Sakellariou, head of the youth consulting bureau.
The eight new technologies seminars had an enrolment of 977 teachers from 44 islands, and were conducted with the use of technical and distance learning education, with each cycle running for six months, with 120 hours of instruction.
Fifth and sixth graders from primary schools received distance learning in the safe use of the internet and in evaluating information gleaned from the web.
Computer science lab supervisors and 120 computer science teachers from various parts of Greece were also trained in Python Programming.
The programme ran from October 2015 through May, 2016.
