26-07-16 Greek architects gain distinction at Mimar Sinan competition
Greek architecture students from the University of Thessaloniki School of Architecture gained one prize and four distinctions at the 2016 Mediterranean Sinan Prize Competition, organised by the well-known Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, which took place on July 11-12 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The degree theses of the Greek architecture students received the following distinctions.
A Prize went to the Thesis “Earth and Water”, by students: D. Valiadi, E. Stamatopoulou., and T-D Stefanaki. The thesis supervisor was Architecture School Professor A.Alexopoulou, with, assistant G.Tsoukals.
The Greek architecture students also picked up three distinctions for the following theses:
- Clay Scapes - by student Eleni Boufeti, with Professor Nikolaos Tsinikas as supervisor.
- Interacting Narrations on the Boundary on the island of Ioannina - by student: Anna Vasileiou, with Professor Alexandra. Alexopoulou as supervisor.
- Materia Rediviva, Matter Through Time, by students , and supervisor Maria Voyatzaki.
Professor Fani Vavyli, of the University of Thessaloniki Architecture School was on the panel of judges of the Mediterranean Mimar Sinan Prize
