23-08-16 Nikos Filis holds press conference ahead of university admissions results
Ending weeks of anxiety for tens of thousands of university applicants, the results of the nationwide Panelladikes university admissions exams will be posted tomorrow, Wednesday, August 24 on the special Education Ministry website http://results.it.minedu.gov.gr .
Candidates will gain access to their personal results by entering their eight-digit applicant’s code, followed by the first four letters of their given name, of their surname, of their father’s given name, and of their mother’s given name.
Also at 11 am there will be an announcement of successful candidates in special categories, including non ethnic Greek candidates who are graduates of high schools abroad, and graduates specifically of EU member-states, of non-Greek descent. The results will be posted on the same website as that for candidates in Greece.
Immediately before the posting, Education Minister Nikos Filis will hold a televised news conference at 10 am to announce the overall results and explain how the minimum points required for admission shaped up in various academic faculties, including comparisons with the previous year. The press conference will be held in the ministry’s Elli Papa Hall, ground floor, room 101.
In addition, the results will be sent by the ministry by email nationwide to the Directorates of Secondary Education, which will print out the lists of names of successful candidates and send them to the local schools under their purview, where they will be posted publicly the same day.
