16-11-16 Education Minister Gavroglou honours 17 November Polytechnic uprising

Minister of Education, Research, and Religious Affairs Kostas Gavroglou, accompanied by ministry General Secretary Yannis Pantis, honoured the anniversary of the Athens Poilytechnic uprising against the junta.

Gavroglou arrived at the Athens Polytechnic shortly after 8am today, laid a wreath, and made the following statement: “We remember with respect and infinite gratitude the youth who fell here, and at a time that democracy is being tested in all of Europe, we hope that their visions and sacrifices will not have been in vain.”
