02-01-17 Minister Gavroglou attends New Year’s Doxology at Athens’ Cathedral

Education, Research, and Religious Affairs Minister Kostas Gavroglu yesterday attended the doxology for the new year at Athens Cathedral, with Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece presiding.

Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, PM Alexis Tsipras, and representatives of political parties, Eastern Orthodox Patriarchates, other churches, ministers, MPs, politicians, and other clergy and laity were in attendance.

Minister Gavroglu then visited the presidential mansion for a traditional ceremony in which the political and military leadership of the country exchanged New Year’s wishes with President Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
